My husband was scheduled for a second surgery on the other half of his liver.
he had his first surgery which was successful in Dec 2023
while waiting for his second surgery a ct scan has shown that he has a few new spots in the liver and a suspicious area on the l2 spine.
surgeon wants a bone scan and for him to restart chemo asap
has anyone had a similar experiance and gotten back to surgery?
thanks for your help
So sorry to hear about your husband. My mum did have to go back to chemo straight after her first liver resection. Three monthly scan four mets were back and a tumour on the resection margin . It was such a blow but the following year she went back to theatre and got the 73% removed . This has worked and stayed clear for over ten years .
Whilst it was a hard place to be at the time I do credit the second round of chemo to contribute to her longevity and here she is 14 years later .
Take heart , it’s definitely not without hope and I wish him every success going forward .
And lots of strength to you too . It’s not always easy pulling the situation together when you are trying to be strong but have a range of emotions yourself .
