Hello. I have had Stage 3 bowel cancer (3 years ago in 2 weeks), ended up with a stoma which I hated - it was reversed 2 years ago and I havent looked back! I have been having my regular check ups, 6 months ago there was a tiny nodule on my lung, at the last scan a month ago its grown to 1 cm. I was sent for a PET CT and it is cancerous. I saw the bowel surgeon on Friday, even though its on my lung it is still colon cancer . weird . he was very upbeat at having found it so early. I am off for SABR radiotherapy in January, when the general consensus is that will sort it out. Anyone been through something similiar? Thank you.
Hi Ags68
So sorry you have to deal with more , but my mum had a solitary lung met removed in 2016 . She was already dealing with a spread but they removed it and was home two days later without further issue for seven years .
Hope that help and you can get it nipped in the Bud whilst it’s still small and manageable.
Take care and hope you can bounce back from this quickly and put it firmly in your rear view mirror .

Hi Ags68 , I was diagnosed in 2019, had surgery + 12 cycles of FOLFOX. They found 3 lung nodules in June 2022 (although there were there since November 2020 but not flagged by the radiologist). I've had another 6 months chemo, finished last March and then SABR in August. I've had a CT scan last week and waiting for results. The onco seems confident that SABR would have done the job but it may be difficult to see amongst scar tissue and remaining inflammation. She also want to check that it hasn't spread anywhere else. At least SABR has very little side effects; I've been on antibiotics for a lung infection and had to get steroids for ongoing cough/inflammation but generally nothing bad. Now just waiting for scan results but trying to focus on Christmas with the family!
Take care
Cecile
Hi Ags68
i had rectal cancer with a LAR and ileostomy reversed thirteen months later then lung cancer picked up and treated March 2023
All treated and now enjoying my Christmas and new year
The cancers were both primary so I had no spread from the bowel.
Finger crossed for you
best wishes
Ann
