Can i just ask if anyone has had the numbness on lips and tongue due to the ox chemo and if there's anything I can do to stop it ?
sonya123 Yes I had numbness of the tongue - felt like I’d eaten a bag of aniseed balls. The nurses referred back to the oncologist and she stopped the oxaliplatin. She says it’s quite a rare side effect but I continued with the capecitabine tablets on their own for another couple of sessions then I mentioned my tingly feet and they stopped the capecitabine too x
Hi sonya123
I'd recommend you raise it with your acute oncology or chemo nurses. It maybe be just a temporary thing, but if it is neuropathy starting they should revisit whether you are on the best treatment plan for you.
Anything nerve based is best discussed as soon as you can to avoid long term or permanent side effects.
Thank you so much going to tell them everything when I see them on Thursday...thank you for ur help
