I have been on longsurf for 4 cycles had a scan then went to see my oncologist last week unfortunately longsurf has not worked, so next plan to re challenge folfori the liver spots have grown not a lot both of them measure 3.4cm together so I had good results with folfori last time so fingers crossed I do again

I tolerated lonsurf it made me very sick and neausa and I didn't like them much so relieved I'm off them even though it means going bavk to hospital every 2 weeks and a picc line again but short price to pay to stay alive.

  • Hi

I am sad to read you did not gain the desired effect from lonsurf. Particularly when it was harsh on you .

However you have had good shrinkage with Flofiri and I hope the side effects won’t be so harsh and it does the job for you once again .

Mum Is on the two week cycle . It is a bit curtailing as well you know but together your family and mine will find a way to keep working out life on treatment and keeping the good times as the focus .

    take special care ,

  • Hi  , that's rubbish going through lonsurf for it not to work, so sorry.  As you had good results with folfori it sounds like a good plan to rechallenge.  What are your biomarkers, are you able to add in any targeted treatments I.e. cetuximab or avastin?

Also, are there any suitable trials?

    Xx

  • Hi he did mention cetuximab Avastin I can't afford I've been trying to raise money for it but not enough.

  • I had great results with Cetuximab and know of a lot of people on it very long term keeping everything stable.  It killed my liver mets, complete clinical response.  Def push for it to be added.x

  •   can it be added anytime during treatment? Did it effect your skin ?

  • Yes, they added it in to my regime after about 2 or 3 cycles.  I did have a skin reaction but they will give you creams to help and you should also get antibiotics.
