Hi everybody,

Just wondered if anybody could possibly help me....

I have been reading up on notes and have come across something I don't think I have read before.

My husbands notes say he is CRM positive now although I have looked up the CRM part but what does the positive mean?

I am getting confused as there are a few different things, CRM threat, CRM negative, CRM positive

I know it has something to do with surgery.

So confused

Thanks Kell

  • Hi

Is this report from his diagnosis before treatment started ?

My understanding is it an area they inspect around the rectal area and if there is any evidence of disease involvement in that area it can direct the best treatment of the person based on the findings . Such as chemo /radiation.

I would however talk it over with his team to get the right interpretation as pre op and post op can be totally different angles .

The way I see it all the information is gathered and forms a jigsaw . This is one piece of the jigsaw . The other parts being lymph node involvement, depth of tumour etc . Once gather it can direct best practice from the research to get the optimum treatment put in place .

How is your husband doing ?

  • Hi Court,

Yes it was from before treatment started, I don't know why but I was going through his notes.

When I read this I tried looking it up but got so confused.

I will ask at his next appointment.

He is doing really well, had the cold hands and a bit of pins and needles. He has 2 more chemo IV appointments left and 5 weeks of the tablets but I am so proud how well he has coped.

Hope you and your mum are ok.

    Take care Kell xxx

  • Well done him . That’s fantastic to hear and you have been wonderful too . A great support to him.

Mum is doing much better and we are thankful .

    Take care ,
