Just found out who my oncologist is that I’m seeing on Wednesday 30th August
his name is Mr Uccello, does anyone know of him and is he any good?
Hi Armygirl
The truth of the matter is you rarely see just the names oncologist. You are more inclined to see the team which can consist of junior Drs , specialist nurses and pharmacists. It can depend which one is running the clinic . Right now my mum is rotating between pharmacy, nurse and a registrar. The consultant has an overview and does a lot of the initial visits and when a clinical decision is needed . It may be different where you are but I would be prepared to see the whole team .
It actually makes it easier if you need to get a hold of someone .
A lot of oncology runs to protocol but it’s great to get pharmacy input etc too as it can really help with side effect management too .
Take care ,
