Having a stoma op
Hi Willmar and a warm welcome to the board. Lots of advice and experience on here about stomas so ask away if you’ve any concerns. There’s also a board just for stomas which you might like to have a look at?
Hi Kath, I have been diagnosed with a cancerous polyp in my colon, I have copd but not too bad, but anethasist says the outcome might be bad or worse, post op might be to not recover very well, I have diabetes which the best op will be to have a permanent stoma then no chance of a leak, I am terrified of not waking up after the op, which I suppose is most peoples worry but they have said because of my copd there is a likely chance i cannot survive, are there any cancer patients which have survived a major operation and have COPD?
Im sorry to hear about your situation.all the added worries of copd etc dont help do they?
Im sorry that I cant help with your question. All I can do is wish you all the best and Im sure the hospital staff will all do their very best for you to have a positive outcome .
Kath
