Hi all,
So I posted a few weeks ago following a meltdown at my MRI appointment. When I arrived all ready to go, the scanner had broken down. That was something out of anyone’s control.
I moved on and got my MRI a week later. Good news is the tumour has shrunk in size. However I still require surgery to remove it all and some lymph nodes.
I had an appointment with the surgeon last week and he requested a Sigmoidoscopy. Fine I’ve had one before, so I knew what to expect.
This is where I must be jinxed…. I arrived at my appointment and I was told following a discussion with the endoscopy specialist that she was unable to complete the procedure. Not again, this time they said that I had been booked into an outsource unit and they had insufficient information to complete it.
This is the final procedure I require and surgery is supposed to be after this. The only good thing about it was I didn’t have Bowel prep, just low fibre diet.
I am now waiting to be referred back to the NHS trust managing my care plan.
Never mind I seem to be getting used to this now.
Thanks for reading
Hi ECG - I am off the Prostate Cancer forum and was just browsing and came across your post - it brought back memories of my last sigmoidoscopy as you say these things only happen to you - well in my case - all was going well.
It was a second one as the one four weeks earlier had not cleared out all the clagg - so I had a second bowl prep and back in again. just as the guy got to the most distant point and was about to snip off a polyp - the head broke and he had to take the entire thing out - put a new head on it and stick it all back up again!
I had a large coffee and double toast - and a sore backside - but all ended well.
Best wishes with your treatment.
Kind Regards
Brian.
