  1. Evening, haven’t posted for a few days. Have been feeling really terrible after first lot of chemo. It’s been 5 days and still feeling ruff . Does it get any easier each time? Think I was naive in thinking bit of nausea, but if arm pain, fatigue. How wrong was I. Anyone got used to it the more they have it? I’ve never been ill so I’m kinda struggling. I’ve put liver diagnoses out of my head and trying to concentrate on chemo doing me good but it’s so tough isn’t it !
sorry I no there’s no point to it post but just wanted any advice to help pull through the first session
  2. hope you all doing ok xx
  • Oh  . My mum was a bit like that but don’t struggle on in silence . Let your team know . My mum’s team made a few adjustments which really helped her .
Is the pain near a cannula site ? If you have your teams number give the nurses a call .
Also with the nausea aspect if that’s an issue it can take a few different anti sickness tablets to get the right one .

It takes a few cycles to get the balances right if my mum is anything to go by and it can be very individual but please give the feedback to your team and as they might be able to resolve some of this .

I have never seen my mum sleep as much as she does on treatment .

    Take care ,

  • Hi,

I know what you mean. I’ve had swollen lips and loads of spots coming out on my face. I was advised regarding spots got cream home with me. There was no mention of swollen lips tho. I’m tired as well my daughter has asked me to go shopping with her tomorrow. My husband said I’m not fit enough for that, but I did want to go, xx

  • Hi

I was wondering if you should maybe run the swollen lips part past your team . Think they like to know about these aspects just in case of allergic reactions .

My mum is very tired , especially in the morning and is currently back in bed for a sleep .

  • Hi Court?

Did your mum get spots on her face they did mention that to me and sent me home with cream. They never mentioned swollen lips but I have read it is a side effect. My husband said if I tell them about my lips they may stop the treatment. Xx

  • Hi Court,

My husband said could it be the new lipstick from Avon I bought as it only seems since then my lips have swollen. Im not sure if it’s that or the immunotherapy. Xx

  • Hi

She does get spots and a rash . She does not like them but she also gets an antibiotic to take for her skin . She is not allowed to use any other products on her face so has only used make up once or twice as she was frightened it would react . She is also not allowed to use  deodorant. She is on a different drug but she gets all her body wash and face creams at her infusion .
She takes an odd antihistamine if she gets itchy or reacts but that’s not part of her prescription.

She gets used to it but finds it easier to stay on top of it .

  • Hi

We used to worry that they would withdraw treatment to but found they are more inclined to help manage the side effects .

The nurses on the helpline might be available .

    Are they badly swollen ?
