Hi my daughter has just had a hysterectomy and a cancer removed from the rectum and they resectioned the bowel it's obviously very early but I'm worrying about her having a poo will it be painful bearing in mind she has a large incision for both of these how does she ensure she doesn't strain and she needs to be on low fat diet also will need gallbladder removed once recovered so any advice very much appreciated...
Hi Lolly67
Others will be along soon with more knowledge than I have I’m sorry you’re daughters going through this as a mother myself I feel for you
Did they say low fat or low fibre?
I had a resection with an Ileostomy and my diet was low fibre. It’s a different op altogether but now I’m reversed my bowel can overreact if I eat too much fibre
You can phone here the medics are wonderful if you are concerned
Sending you a hug
Ann
Hi Ann thank you for your reply well yes low fat she also needs her gallbladder removed when she's recovered from these two at the moment she has lots of wind but think when they get her out of bed that will ease a bit thanks so much for that info re the medics I'll definitely remember that x
