Hi All! Apologies for the radio-silence for so long but thought I’d pop in to update, even if it’s just to help anyone else on the journey
Had my laparoscopic right-hemicolectomy on the 12th May and it all went brilliantly - surgeon was really pleased, said minimal bleeding. Also had ‘a good look around while I was in there’ and said he didn’t see anything else suspicious and the tumour hadn’t got through the outer layer of the colon.
I asked if he’d removed the two queried nodes and he said he had removed them and all local nodes even not queried and sent for testing to make sure.
Went down at 12pm was eating by 4pm and up, walking, and showering the next morning! Went home 3 days later!
Currently waiting the results of the testing to find out next steps, which my nurse thinks will be at the MDT next Thursday.
Overall I’m feeling really happy and positive about everything! Fingers crossed for Thursday!
Have had my histology results! 54 lymph glands removed, 1 positive for some cells so have an appointment with the oncologist on the 28th to start chemo. Feeling ok about it all! They reckon a 3 month course, and said I am eligible for a trial that may reduce it too. Has anyone else done this?
I’ve also set up a local support group that’s been popular!
Well done you ! Nicole83 Setting up a support group takes a fair bit of work . I am so impressed and proud of you .
You have certainly turned this situation into something positive that in turn is helping others . It does not get much better than that .
Sorry you have more treatment to go through but we are most definitely here to support you through this last part .
Take care ,

Meeting yesterday confirmed histology that I too need chemo - not what I was hoping/expecting to hear but so grateful that my Team are on the ball and swift to act. Got to think positive thoughts and am so grateful for the FIT test. I am also going to sign up for the trial. Sounds as if we are in the same boat NIcoleBee x
