Bowel cancer spread to liver

Morning all

this is my first time. I was diagnosed yesterday with bowel cancer that has spread to my liver and they see spots on my lung. I have to have an MRI and Pet scan to see extent but my mind has blown. Will I die from this ?
has anyone here had a similar diagnosis. I’m struggling- the consultant really didn’t give much information apart from saying I need more scans and that I will have chemo . Is it treatable, curable. I’m so frightened. I’m only 52

they originally said no chemo as no invasion no lymph nodes and totally removed the liver was a surprise they thought it was a cyst 9/10 people it would have been! lucky me !!!!

surgery after chemo but haven't heard form surgeon yet

They are giving me FOLFOX - Oxaliplatin -Fluorouracil 3 hr infusion at the hospital and a little slow infusion over 48hrs all via Picc line. just ordered my colourful picc line covers recommended as the tape stings and irritates skin

Ah isn’t that the truth . Nothing seems straight forward and easy ! Good luck though- hope u hear from surgeon real soon x

I’m the same only my infusion at hospital is immunotherapy first then oxilaplatin then the folfox

Taken home in the pump for another 48 hours. Already got the pic lace covers lol. Xx

Hope all goes well Faloola.

Just a little tip regarding the 46hr portable pump at night - i found putting an extra pillow (on it's side) against the headboard was a great place to rest the pump, kept it flowing well as elevated and meant the pipework was also out of my way

Hi There,

Oh thanks for the tip I will remember that. Unfortunately the pump will be coming off today as there was still some left yesterday due to the late 7;30 connection in the hospital. I was there from 10-7:30 long day.
