Hi all!! I think I am progressing pretty well after my colostomy 5 weeks ago apart from the tiredness.  Just asking if I should be feeling better do you think??

Just received my chemo schedule for initial treatments.  No more ops it would seem.  Only chemo now.  Getting my head round that too!!!

  •   Hi Lin. I was told after my resection that I should be starting to feel a better by the 5 week mark. Is your colostomy output very high? I’m wondering if things are going through you too quickly so you’re not getting all the nutrients from your diet? Perhaps you could ask your doctor to run a full blood count just to check things out - I was very low in potassium and calcium at one point which was picked up by a blood test

    Hope the chemo goes well

    Take care

  • Hi Lin

    Karens given great advice

    I found power naps essential.
It took me a long while to recover as I had a major pulling about and my Ileostomy was rapid.
Just take things easy saving your strength and listening to your body.
