stage 4 bowel cancer for over 4 years.
cancer spread to liver snd lung.
June 2023 Bile duct blocked and stent fitted
march 2023 failed stent. Blocked bike duct and very bad infection. New stent to be fitted failed
now waiting for a pct to replace stent.
anyone been through this?

I have just gone through something a little bit similar myself. In February I developed jaundice and was very unwell-emergency admission to hospital and diagnosed with a blocked bile duct and cholangitis. I had a really bad infection so was in hospital for 9 days getting pumped full of antibiotics.
An attempt to unblock the duct was made with an ERCP which unfortunately failed. I was back in on Monday this week for them to try again and also place a stent. My liver results have been way out of kilter and are not much improved and I found the ERCP procedures pretty traumatic.
The dr managed to unblock the duct this time but couldn’t place the stent. Not sure about the next steps now, as they wanted to remove my gallbladder, but as I’ve had a total pelvic exenteration I’ve been told this would be very risky.
I appreciate this is not the same as you are going through, but wanted to empathise with how horrible an experience this has been. I was told my infection was life threatening, so it was a scary time.
I hope you are not waiting too long for the pct to happen, it must be horrible being stuck in hospital for so long.
