Do I ring CNS nurse tomorrow
Hi Jkee. It’s good that you rang 999 and you definately need to speak to a member of his team. Do you have a 24 hour chemo help number? If not then maybe ring the hospital and see if you can get hold of someone as he may need to stop the tablets asap.
Please keep us posted
Take care
Karen x

You might like to speak to our helpline 0808 808 0000
. I would definitely want to speak to a consultant . I know for sure even at weekends they are on call . If it was me I would phone back and ask the junior dr to contact the consultant and give advise .
Capecitabine can cause issue for some people regarding their heart and he needs to know what to do and it needs to be actioned . Just my views .

Hi Jkee.
Simon's oncology consultant name should be stated on the top of the "intended treatment plan" document issued to Simon and his GP just before chemo started.
Chest pain from muscle spasms is a side effect that I have from my chemo treatment. It can be very painful and scary at first. So my sympathies are with Simon.
However, if Simon's temperature, consciousness or pulse are out of sorts then A+E may well be best - regardless of the wait.
