Discharged by Oncologist

Hi everyone
Thought I would share my positive news. I had my final meeting, post chemo with my oncologist and I am happy to confirm that I have been discharged to the Colorectal Nurses to start my 5 year surveillance path. My post chemo scan was clear and blood results were great.
It has been a whirlwind journey since diagnosis in July 2022 but thanks to our wonderful NHS, shout out to Lewisham Hospital, the wonderful support I have received from this forum and the biggest support ever from my family, friends and colleagues I am now continuing on my life's journey and hopefully will have no further episodes of cancer. I wish everyone the best of luck on your own personal journeys and will be forever humbled by the honesty and integrate shown by you all . Take care, stay positive xxx

Thats great news :D I have just been discharged from the Oncologist, but no mention of bloods or scans. How long did they wait to scan and take bloods after you finished your last round? Im wondering if I need to ask them to do it for me.

finished chemo mid December. then the chemo suite where I had the treatment arranged a blood test appt for 9 January, then a CT scan for 23 January , follow up appt with Oncologist on 9 February to discharge for surveillance. My oncology appt was originally for 2 Feb but cancelled due to staff shortages but oncologist called me on 1 Feb to advise scan clear and blood results great so I did not have to wait that extra week to find out. Next Appt early April with Colectoral nurses
