Evening all,
please please flatulance I'm so embarrassed with the odour I have.
How long will this continue, i try to do my walking exercises and very much want to return to the gym once I have had my 3rd Chemo and that's completed.
I think what it is when I have to use shop toilets or public I do get so embarrassed.
just thought I would have a rant
big beautiful hugs to all
Oh Flower123, you are so not alone. Sorry to say, i'm struggling with the same.
If anyone has any tips, please share. I've tried adjusting diet, different fruit teas, etc. Nothing appears to significantly help.
I have adjusted my diet when I have mashed potatoes veg or cheese on toast that seems to be the only meal that doesn't give me excess winds am truly scared when I return to work,
has anybody returned to work what adjustments did you have to make how was it,
Thank for info
Hi. I think we’ve had different treatment but we’re in the same place
I think vegetables seem to increase my issues. Beige and boring seems to be fine. The minute I have something slightly colourful I’m embarrassing myself. Also if I have spices then I have soreness
I don’t have a problem with white bread sandwiches so they may be good to take to work
But I did have an Ileostomy that was reversed last September so maybe it’s just time that’s needed for it to settle
Hope things improve for you both
Ann
Thanks Ann
im not a big lover off white bread its the thought of bloating, i think once my energy levels go up,i think with me it is nerves, people don't really understand with bowel cancer the side effects well for me embarrssing,i don't eat spices any more I still cook west Indian food for my partner, but I know unfortunately some foods I will need to cut out.
Everything takes time hey.
Big Beautiful Hugs
I don't have option. Mine are very determined and strong minded.. no stopping them
Hi Flower123 ,
as of yet I have no flatulence advice. My bowel is just recovering from surgery & I'm early days of working out what's going on with all things food, wind & motions.
Pre diagnosis I did have a mental thing about the use of public toilets however and with this in mind, the other day I discovered through MacMillan website somewhere, that you can get a 'radar key' for disabled toilets. I ordered one (£5) as going out in the near future & planning to be near an easy access loo might reduce some of my anxiety. A small step to confidence building.

Defo a good move.
I got accessible toilet access (RADAR) key free from my council when i asked them about getting a RADAR key
Morning all
yes It was suggested to look into this the radar ,So how are we all this day is every one on this post still in work.
I decided after my surgery to listen to my oncologist and stay off whilst my chemo is underway.
Although fingers crossed my third and final one in February I will return to work phase returns well financially need to.
So i have felt I lost me in the process the happy go lucky person positive and vibrant, although I will say due to having bowel cancer this has opened my eyes.
i was always worried about people talking about me because Im different quirky love life, people would comment wow I wanna be in your world I know my colleagues took the Micky out of me.
Cancer isn't nice to have the complications the treatments the loneliness even if you have some good friends around you.
With this forum it helps to read other stories comments etc.
Big beautiful hugs & thank you
