Diagnosis of Bowel Cancer.

I was diagnosed with Bowel cancer in April 2019, straight after my Colonoscopy. I had sedation for this, & when I was told straight after, I was high as a kite, & said 'Oh really.' It took me another day, before I realised the severity of the diagnosis.

However, throughout my cancer treatment (on my own,) I have always appreciated the immediate & direct honesty from my colorectal team of nurses, that have been with me since that time.

In Spring of 2020, after a follow up CT Scan, one of my specialist nurses rang me early evening soon after - to say that I had two Lung Mets. I'd had a couple of glasses of wine, & was frankly not bothered, until she said 'You do know this is serious?' which shook me up a bit.

I have to say, that although scary at times, my hospital & team have always been very direct in delivering information to me, & I have never had to wait. However harsh, I prefer this up front reality.
