And here we are in 2023.

Let’s see what we can achieve despite all that’s going on .

My son is reading a book about making one small change at a time so we left granny sleeping   and headed out for a nice mother and son walk . He does not do that too often !Grinning

Steak pie for us later once the fresh orange juice and French toast goes down .

Take special care ,

  • That looks lovely,  , and the cakes look yummy....

I like always doing something, but have had to learn the hard way that I can't do anything like what I used to. Here's hoping this will improve.

I've been boring the last couple of days, and done my tax return, the joys of being self-employed!!!!!

  • Actually in all honesty my son And a few others are trying to do things other than the iPhone . Thought I would reduce a bit too !

I am taking it a day at a time but have my moments. I loved taking care of him and miss his presence. However I keep trying as he would wish me too .

Could see the whole scanning thing far enough but trying to reframe it in my mind !Grinning.

  • Well done @Gemmary. You can relax now knowing you have done the hard stuff .

I really have to push myself to do anything like that so admire you .

However I have surprised myself lately .

  • Well done on the tax return Gemmary! I did my husband's the other day - a good hour of my life i won't get back!

My mantra for 2023 is to listen to my body and stop feeling guilty for becoming a couch potato!

  • Well, can't stop thinking about my mum today, it would be her 108th birthday!! Lost her 35 years ago, aged only 73. I wonder what she would make of today's world. She was looking out for me today in 1999,  when a lorry hit my horse I was riding. We both survived. Thanks mum.

Oh well. Sorry, needed to acknowledge her today, somewhere where people would 'get it'.

  • I love that you do   . It’s so important to me to stop and think about special people .

This week I have been doing a lot of thinking . An oncology visit that leaves you churning over the details .

One life lesson is also to pay attention to bone health . Turns out mum has multiple fractures in multiple places . Getting some input on bone strengthening now . Cancer has increased a little so a good time to start some treatment. And there were other quite important things flagged up too . In all honesty it’s taken a few days to process and find our feet . The plan is for as little intervention as possible to keep it at bay and a lovely oncologist taking care of the details .

This morning is beautiful here . Crispy but no snow so off out for some coffee therapy ! In the last two weeks mum has had eight appointments but today is a rest day and time for some self care .

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm enough .

Have a good weekend and hope you all get the opportunity to do something nice .
