Hi! Just a little update, still waiting on a surgery date,  I have been told the surgery won’t be preformed at my local hospital due to waiting list and that I have been referred to Glasgow Golden Jubilee.

When I seen the consultant a few weeks ago she advised me, there is a discrepancy in their findings, the consultant that did the colonoscopy thought he found a suspicious area in the splenic fleture,  when the CT scan was carried out they saw nothing there but something on the right hand side.  The consultant decided the best option was to open me up and see what was there.  I was quiet overwhelmed by this as it is majorly surgery when they are not sure.
The golden jubilee have been in touch and want to re do the colonoscopy and scans again. Im quite relieved that they are not convinced about the initial findings, and hoping I’m going to wake up and this has all been a bad dream.
Has anyone else been through a similar situation?

  • Hi

I can completely understand why you are concerned and would most certainly want a bit more clarity regarding the situation .

However the colorectal surgeons in Glasgow get a pretty good reputation . Sounds as though they are going to find out for themselves where the location is .

The last time we communicated you had a biopsy on the liver .

Are they planing to deal with this at the same time ?

  • Hi court,  they are planning on doing bowel surgery first, as the bowel biopsies came back incomplete, so I’m gathering they want the histology from the bowel first, so that oncology can decide on appropriate treatment.  Hope you are doing well?

  • Hi Mrs fight.

Hope your surgery goes well. I found maternity clothes a real godsend for the days/weeks post surgery to avoid pressure on sensitive scars and nerves.

Hope all goes well for you.
