Well today has been quite eventful and has even taken my mind off Jay's first chemo session tomorrow. Last night our kitchen sink became blocked. Drain ublocker wasn't working so went to our friendly neighbourly plumber who lives across the road. He came over and got to work and then looked in the sink cupboard and it was absolutey soaking with water on the floor As it now turns out we have a leaking pipe on the outside wall somewhere between our inside waste pipe and that one and can't use the kitchen sink or washing machine til it's fixed. Had to check with our downstairs neighbour that they weren't getting any water in too but they're ok and the water seems to be running down the outside wall. So `plumber neighbour` said he will fix it for us and do it on `mates' rates` or `neighbour rates` if you like. He is so handy to have for things like that he fitted our shower for us as well. Had to happen to us at this time. Getting jittery about Jay's chemo tomorrow too been slightly emotional today too but you have to let it our every so often and I feel that bit better for it after that. The dog got his `haircut` for Santa coming next week today too so been a busy wee day again. The hospital phoned to check in with Jay as well today and they know all about him going in tomorrow for the chemo. The nurse will come out on Sunday to disconnect his pump and the nurse he spoke to today said they will go over everything with us tomorrow and once we know the drill what days he goes in for the infusion etc should be plain sailing after that. Will let you all know how tomorrow goes. Take Care.

  • So, had a wee emotional breakdown earlier. Just been feeling like this all day today and just putting it down to a `bad day`.  Anyway, seen a wee glimmer of the `old Jay` today. If I say something daft he pulls a really stupid face as if to say `what are you on about`?? not seen that in a while and when the plumber was in today, he was chatting away to him as normal so hopefully I'm not tempting fate here and the old Jay that I know is beginning to resurface again. Almost ate all his dinner again tonight too just left a couple of wee bits of pasta and talking about what he wants to do for Christmas dinner this year as that's his thing in doing that.  It won't be `overboard` as he usually goes but it'll be enough considering it's only me him and my sister. As she's on her own, she comes to stay with us for a few days then goes back home and does the same for the following week for New Year. So hopefully the `old Jay` will resurface soon. Feeling a little bit of discomfort with his PICC line just now but still getting used to it. It's not painful as such, just slightly uncomfortable at the minute and he is trying to find a comfortable way of sleeping with it in bed. Sometimes he forgets and moves his arm a certain way and it nips him a little bit but I'm sure he'll get used to it.
