In 2020 my husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer at 37 years old, he had 3 months of chemo followed by a left hemicolectomy followed by mop up chemo due to cancer in 1 of 19 lymph nodes that had been removed he was then cancer free until it returned in para aortic lymph nodes we were then told in 2021 that he is now palliative and could have immunotherapy to prolong he's life, he had 8 rounds of immunotherapy and then it attacked he's bowels causing ulcerative colitis we almost lost him Flushed immunotherapy had to be permanently stopped because of this. Today we are 10 months with no cancer treatment at all and have just received the news that he is now in REMISSION!! I can't believe it after being told palliative one year ago to now being in remission is absolutely crazy I feel like it's all a dream.

  • Thank you for sharing such good news!!!

I remember so well your very first post as we tried to work out the diagnosis letter !

All the lonely nights you put in trying to explore his treatment options and still be a good mum !

The highs and lows of treatment. And just when you thought it could not get any worse it’s completely turned around .

What a man and what a treatment journey he has endured .

It will take you both a while to catch up with this emotionally but you both have a great future with your family . What a gift .

I see a lot of research now trying to see if this can be used for other cell types .

Since my mum was first diagnosed this was not even in the pipe line .

Now we need the scientists and the pipeline to deliver more !

    Take special care ,
