Exercise!

So, managed to get Jay to do some `chair exercises` today- much to his reluctance I might add. Managed to find light chair exercises- for seniors! yes this is what we are down to people as I am technically a senior too nowSmile. I found a few on youtube and one was by the NHS but she did a warm-up that Jay thought was the actual exercise so switched it to the shorter one for seniors which consisted of a chap sitting in a chair doing mainly leg exercises which is what Jay needs he needs more work on his legs. It was 10 repetitions of each exercise i.e. lifting your knees and doing calf exercises which consisted on going on your tip toes to lift your ankles while sitting down of course. Think he managed about 4 or 5 of each repitition before stopping but it's a start. Annie one of the advisers from here gave us a call today just to check in how we are doing and she said she will call again in a couple of weeks' time again. So think we may give these wee exercises another go tomorrow he told Annie we were doing it and she said just start off easy and do what he could. Take care all.

  • That’s great . It keeps the blood flowing too . I keep telling my mum to even walk from room to room to prevent blood clots . Slowly but surely she has built herself up and doing more . She has a few appointments this week and had to walk further so was exhausted yesterday and slept most of the afternoon. But is getting a visit today from my cousins son and his girlfriend so managed to bake last night with a lot of help from my sister but she participated at a level she could .

I think it’s so important to keep them connected .

Mum got off her diuretic so that is helping with the urgent trips to the toilet !
