***Update****

So today we met with the surgeon and to discuss the CT scan results following the colonoscopy. As we knew there was a cancer in the right of the colon in the Caecum.

It was T2N0M0. When they confirmed there was no spread I burst into tears of relief. Such a strange feeling because the cancer is very much there but I felt so happy that we at least have some kind of good news out of complete rollercoaster. Waiting has been the worst thing I have ever experienced but my mum now seems a lot better as do I knowing we have a treatment plan in place.

My mum will be having surgery to remove the cancer in the next 4 weeks and potentially some chemo but they won't know if chemo is needed until they operate, they said it may not be needed at all but we will wait and see.

They sent her to pre op and advised she needed to get as fit as possible ready for surgery they also gave her some protein drinks. We were at the hospital for 4 hours in total.

Obviously we have a long way to go in terms of surgery, recovery and potential chemo but I am so thankful my mum's GP pushed for an urgent colonoscopy when he did.

I finally have hope that she can beat this with me by her side. X
