Hi, I’ve had 3 treatments of CAPOX on 3 week cycle. Oxy IV was delayed a week after 2nd cycle but now I’ve had a platelet count too low for my 4th treatment for 4 weeks. I have not been offered anything to help raise my platelets just told to wait and hope they go up. Does anyone have a similar experience?
Bloods again today, platelets have improved but still too low for last treatment. Dr has decided to cancel further treatment altogether Mixed feelings, relieved that no more chemo but now worried it hasn’t done the job. Is it common not to finish 4 cycles?
Hi KarenMary
Sorry to hear your platelets have taken a knock . I noticed my mum’s once were very low and had her all prepared for a delay but they had increased themselves .
Hers have actually sat on the low side for ten years ( very low ) but just last month popped right up again .
Is that your fourth week without chemotherapy ? Hopefully they will be turning a corner soon .
