Hi first post & feeling v numb after initial results of rectal endoscopy yesterday.  Biopsies taken but consultant & Specialist nurse have talked to me as it is v typical of rectal cancer.

i have to have another full body CT & an MRI scan. V frightened but have supportive family. My partner has ADHD & psychosis & he is not supportive but I have to put myself first for once.

i think he might be unable to cope with it & im trying to contact his nurse. This is a great help to have a place to share & discuss thx

  • I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in April so I understand where you are coming from and how frightened you are. It’s normal practice to follow up with CT and MRI scans then the consultant can decide what course of treatment to give you. The waiting is horrible until you know where you are heading,

on a positive note I had radiotherapy and just had my sigmoidoscopy a couple off weeks ago and the consultant said I have responded well to the treatment. So brilliant news.

hope you have the same response. Don’t look at Google it’s not really up to date. Any worries speak to your rectal  nurse

hope all works well for you

  • Hi Bellydancer 14

    Love your name. Great choice.
You definitely have to concentrate on yourself this is important. It’s very scary while your having the tests I was all over the place. I listened to meditation on my phone watched romcoms and plodded on one day at a time.
I was straight in for an operation so the treatment will be planned on your needs

Take care I’m sending you a hug c
