Tumour removed July 14th 2022, CAPOX chemo started September 21st 2022 why all of a sudden can I not stop thinking about the cancer returning and coming back on my liver… this is literally all im thinking about, I’m not even 2 weeks in to my 6 months of chemo yet…. I know we get CT scanned every year but with liver cancer do you actually get any symptoms, are there signs I should look out for… I’m defo going to see if I can speak to someone about these thoughts, I see my oncologist October 12th hopefully she will be able to suggest something.

I am sorry about this post, I just had to tell someone how I feel

Thanks again

  • Yes they're good at the Beatson. We had to go there last year when Jay has to go through his chemoradiation to get his tumour shrunk for surgery. We had to go there Monday-Friday for 6 weeks I think it was to get his tumour shrunk down so they could operate in January seems so long ago now though it was only last year.

  • Hi,

I am around 30 miles from it think we entered through every housing estate to get there.

Just hoping I get a treatment plan after my 5 days of radiotherapy on my pelvis to help with the pain.

I think they mentioned my tumour is around 3cm. Unlike Jay they say mine is inoperable yet if had been sarcoma as they thought they would have operated.

It’s good to talk to others going through similar.

  • We're actually in Glasgow and live on the southside of the city. The Beatson is part of Gartnavel Hospital which is in the west end of the city. Although its Glasgow, for us it's still a bit of a jaunt to get to from where we are worse if you don't have your own transport which luckily we do. When my sister had breast cancer 3 years ago, she had to go in and get operated on at Gartnavel and I had to get a taxi there and back with her as Jay was still working at the time and she had to be in early morning. It was £26 there and back for me in a taxi. It's not too bad they've moved all Jays treatment to The New Victoria Hospital which is just about 15 minutes away from where we are. Sometimes he needs to go to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital which is just a wee bit further away but they've managed to divert all his treatment to the Victoria. He goes to day clinic there to get his Oxipalatin infusion during his cycle and sees his oncology team there too and this is where he will go and get his scan so it's good that way we don't need to travel far to have all this done. Take Care.
