Diagnosed last Christmas Eve with a large sigmoid tumor, colostomy mid Jan, chemo / radiotherapy mid April to mid May. Last scans were end of July. Saw surgeon end of August, pre-op mid September. Had an appointment for November 4th but I then tested positive for Covid. Surgeon has now decided he needs up to date scans before surgery. So I have MRI Wednesday 8th and CT Wednesday 15th. So surgery looks like being over 1 year since diagnosis. This really drags on doesn't it.

  • Best wishes for next week, hope they can remove the intruder! Take care

I can understand the surgeons like recent scans for theatre but it’s been a long slow process for you . Let’s hope you are one of the first on the list for New Year !

How are you keeping ? Have you managed to keep your spirits up ?

That does sound like a long time! Fortunately most of these tumours are slow growing and if the surgeon is asking for scans that will hopefully be the push for a new date. It’s tough waiting, you just want it all done and dusted! Hope you can enjoy a bit of Christmas xxx
