Hi,
I'm new here, but quite used to the womb cancer section!!!
My husband had a Colonoscopy last Saturday, and hasn't had a decent bowel movement since. Is this normal after this procedure, and if not what should we be doing? He has had prunes for two days and today tried a dose of Lactulose. Anyone else had a problem?
NannyAnny, it takes a few days for the bowel to fill back up again, after its trauma!! Particularly if you are still on a low residue diet. So in my experience this is 'normal ' but can you ring the colonoscopy team? If it was as a result of bowel screening then there should be a contact number. I know I had to and found them helpful.
Hope that might help! Ask if there are any other questions. Take care.
Thanks for that, Gemmary. I guessed as much, but its nice to know from someone who has been there. He had throat cancer 14 years ago, and I battled along on my own then. There was nothing on the internet. I will no doubt be back with more questions. I am NOT battling along on my own again!
I did try to contact the nurse in charge, but she was off duty, and its now weekend!!
Hi NannyAnny. You could give the nurses on here a ring and run it past them? The number is 0808 808 00 00 x
