My husband had he's bowel cancer op in April they successfully removed the tumor and 19 lymph nodes and only 1 node had cancer in the surgeon was certain he had removed everything but wanted my husband to have mop up chemo as a precaution. Last week he had a CT scan and the results show a thickening at the join of the bowel and lymph nodes around where the tumor was are now enlarged the surgeon wants my husband to have a PET scan and a colonoscopy I'm worried sick it's only been 3 months since surgery surely nothing could have come back in that time and also while he is on chemo please can anyone tell me if they have experienced this good or bad stories I need to hear them all please xx
Hi Hayleyc89
I can totally understand why that has given you a fright ! But he has just had surgery and chemo and can take time to settle . Keep In mind how chemo responsive he is . Remember lymph nodes can react to other things too . His team are straight onto it and checking it out . We had a few post op scares along the way too but it’s a big invasive process .
Hopefully the PET scan will bring good news .
