I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer early last year. I have gone through numerous surgeries and radiotherapy.
Now am experiencing alot of effects of the radiotherapy...it was done around the pelvis and so induced me to early menopouse.
It's a terrible experience...the hotflashes..night sweats and sleeplessness.....sometimes I feel the need to rush to the bowel, ...the feeling that I don't compilitely empty the bowel... constipation... dehydration...
Hi Miss O1, I had my bowl cancer treatment starting with the radiotherapy and I shall be moving onto chemotherapy next month. I know what you mean about your movements it’s not nice and had to buy Men’s sanitary wear because I had no control over my bowl nor could I form a stool. My hospital doctor gave me some pills that actually slows down the bowl movement which in turn produces a small stool. The other thing that I learned was to eat more starch type food like white bread and reduce the fibre content in your food. The tablet I was given is Codeine Phosphate 30mg which is also a pain killer. I only took one tablet and my movements have improved.
Good luck for the future Paul
