husband had colon cancer nov 2019 went for scan nov 202o found something on hes liver nad op in feb 2021
doctor phoned yesterday wants him to go for chemo is this normal any info or advice wecomr
Hi trca,
Yes it’s very normal to have chemo first if it has spread anywhere else and with good reason . Not only does it Shrink any visible disease it also tackles any micro disease . Whilst it would have mentally been easier to think of a surgical solution first . Looking back I think it has had a big part to play in my mum’s long term survival. It’s also pretty universal to have chemo first . Most countries do it that way , some don’t with a solitary met but have chemo after . My mum had it first but no other chemo . Others do some before and some after but it’s very , very common .
I wish him every success and it’s also good they see him as a surgical candidate.
Take care ,
Court
