Hi im not new to the site but new to this group, 3 years ago this month I was diognosed with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma, I had my left kidney removed with no further treatment needed other than yearly checks, July 2025 after a ct scan for an unrelated problem a small 6mm nodule was found in lower left lung which is being monitored, then 4 days ago I got woke up in very bad pain in lower left back going round into groin after ending up going to a&e due to pain and a ct scan it was found i had a fracture of the pelvic bone & as id not had a fal or accident & with my cancer history a MRI was ordered of my pelvis, hips & thigh bones which has shown bone cancer in the area or my fracture which has weakened the bone causing a pathological fracture but consultant also says my lung nodule is most likely cancer too which both have spread from my previous kidney cancer, now just waiting for oncology to sort plan etc, has anyone bern through similar & what treatment plans did you have? I know it will be different for each person but jyst wsnt an idea of whats to come

  • Hi

I don’t have any experience to offer as I have a different cancer with a different pattern of metastasis (liver mets from triple negative breast cancer) but didn’t want your post to go unanswered.

I am sorry you have suffered fractures and that you are now waiting on a plan. I can see your primary cancer is a relatively rare one

You might like to join the Kidney cancer forum . It’s quite a bit busier than this forum and I can see there are people posting about chromophobe renal cell carcinoma on it. Someone on there may have some experience to offer.
