Hi,
I was recently diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in multiple sites in my bones, unsure how many lesions as when I ask they said it doesn’t matter if it’s one or 20. I had breast cancer in 2016, mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy. Was just approaching my 10 year mark and by chance it was found the cancer gad spread to my bones. I am on Abe 100ml as I could not cope on 150ml, also taking letrozole and have bone injections every three months. I sort of need a prognosis so I can prepare but they will not give me one, they said I could live for years on this treatment. Anyone else feel they are not being told everything.
Hi Evergreen
I am sorry your cancer has spread to your bones. I have secondary breast cancer but mine isn’t oestrogen responsive. I have been living with it since 2022. I have never asked for a prognosis as at the beginning my outlook probably was poor and I didn’t want a ‘use by date’ over my head. I took the obvious financial steps when first diagnosed, but responded well to treatment and now feel I could live for years. Your type of cancer has a number of treatment lines and I think many people do indeed live for years and years. I think you will know if things start to deteriorate, meanwhile I hope you remain stable.
