My husband had his first Zometa on Friday & as been in agony with bone pain, so much so he's now got oramorph & having radiotherapy on the spine on Friday.
I am away at present & was under impression Zometa helped the bone pain not increase it? He's gone back to Marsden today to be measured up for radiotherapy via CT scan & marked up where radiotherapies needed, he is having this on Friday.
Is this a normal reaction to Zometa, the pain was so bad he couldn't sleep over the weekend & he says he wasn't forewarned about the pain.
Today the pain as subsided, but was just wondering if this a normal reaction to Zometa? As both nurse & doctor said its not normal.
Anyone with any similar experiences I'd like to know.
Many thanks
Hi Tillyboo welcome to the forum..I had a look at the site for posts about Zometa and they all mention increased bone pain and muscle pain. I wonder if it's been one of the things overlooked when explaining to your hubby re side effects. However, I would flag that up to the team treating hubby as they can try and be more prepared when he has the next treatment and hope all that makes sense? Gail
