My breast cancer has spread from the primary 10 years on it is metastatic stage 4 terminal. If anyone has gone through this how did their body respond to treatments, how did the cancer respond to treatments to control  and relieve symptoms.

How did you deal with the shock and fear this  overwhelming diagnosis

i am at present having a course of chemotherapy, Phesgo, Docetaxel, Dexamethasore, going for third dose so half way through the cycle now. Side affects are hair loss, diarrhoea, nausea and fatigue and slight loss of weight.

How long have members been treated for this cancer?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm so sorry to read that you've discovered that after 10 years of being cancer free  that your breast cancer has returned and has spread.

As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer group, as you'll then connect directly with others who have this type of cancer.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    ((hugs))
