Hello,
My mum finished treatment bladder cancer (BCG) last Feb. Has been having cameras and got the all clear up until a month ago where they suspected early recurrence in the bladder. Upon cystoscopy there wasn’t anything in the bladder but a 1.5cm tumor in the uterer. The consultant said he thinks this could have been the cause of her bladder cancers which have been non muscle invasive. She had a cystoscopy a year prior that was clear.
freaking out and thinking the worst, anyone else had similar experiences and what was discussed for treatment.
Hi Omjam9717, welcome to this friendly and supportive forum. I don't have experience of your mums situation so I am unable to offer advice or reassurance in this instance. I am sure someone will be along soon to offer you their thoughts. You havent said if the consultant offered any treatment or further investigations. I know it must be very frightening for you at the moment , I wondered if your mum has a specialist cancer nurse , maybe you could have a chat with them . There is also the macmillan helpline open from 8am , the nursing staff are always available to help or signpost you to where you can get help. I wish you all the best and hope you get some reassurance and peace of mind . take care
Much love Angela x
Like Halofan I have no direct experience of this. And she has said everything that I would have said. I had my bladder and urethra removed 2 years ago (muscle-invasive) and am doing OK so far. I hope you get some information soon. I was lucky in my CNS who would ring back if I left a message, though it could take a while as the team are very busy. I expect they are going to discuss your mother's case at their next MDT and you may hear more after that.
All the best,

Hi omjam9717 . It varies from place to place and usually down to availability of the people involved. Consultants usually have limited appointment time. You can never read anything in to the timings or who you will be seeing. Best wishes.
