Hi Guys
I'm about to start my Chemotherapy treatment next week just wondering if anyone has been through the same treatment?
Hi Flipfinder . Good to know you are about to start treatment. It does take some anxiety away when you have something positive to focus on. MVAC is a cocktail of different drugs and for some reason doesn't come up on here very often. The GCSF is to help maintain the white blood cell count which chemo can affect. I had the more traditional Gem/Cis which uses one of the MVAC drugs and tolerated it quite well. We know chemo can cause mouth sores and I was advised to use a good quality mouthwash regularly to help prevent this. I hope it goes well. Best wishes.
Hi flipfinder
I was in gem/cis myself, iam not too sure about your regime but any chemo will generally make you tired and generally lethargic. Everyone reacts differently to chemo and side effects will differ from person to person. For instance I developed blood clots and had to be brought off chemo, I missed my last session. Blood clots was never mentioned to me as a possible side effect.
Don't hesitate to ask on the forum for any advice once you start your chemo. There will always be someone who has suffered something that's not commonly associated with the side effects.
Let's us know how your getting on
Best wishes
Mark
