3RD CHEMOTHERAPY CANCELLED

Hi all hope everyone is well I haven't posted in a while.

So after my 2nd round of chemotherapy I stated to develop swollen arms around the wrist which I put down to the canula. Over the week it didn't get any better and my whole arm was beginning to get sore.

I contacted the chemotherapy helpline and went to see them at the Belfast Cancer Centre. The doctor booked me in for an ultrasound which I had done yesterday. The ultrasound showed that I have clots in my arm.

Fortunately for myself I had a meeting with my consultant today as my 3rd round of chemo was due to start this Thursday. He had decided to cancel the 3rd round. The risk of further cloting is too  great for any benefit I may get from the 3rd round. The 3rd round is the least effective and it's just not worth doing.

The consultant is meeting with the surgeon next week and inform him my chemo had now finished and iam ready for my RC within the next few weeks.

I have been put on blood thinners Injected everyday. I will be told to stop these a number of days before my RC

I have a scan next Monday to see how the chemo has worked.

They were hoping to operate at the end of March, but it may be a bit sooner now.

Best wishes to all

Mark
