Hi everyone
My name is kerry , it's podperson on the forum had to chose something , but I am a podiatrist.
Had the worst 2 days so far with pain and everything seemed to come together in a bad way . I acquired a water infection and in a cancerous bladder that's awful but tramadol wasn't helping the pain .
I was my gp and she put me on antibiotics, morphine slow release patches and oromorph. But the 3 chemist's i went to didn't have any i was in agony , I've started tapping my foot when I'm in pain it's a sort of involuntary thing it's so I concentrate on the tap and not the pain , I finally got the meds and started the morphine is working well but Catheterising is terrible, I can't stand it makes me shout out and I'm not one to worry about a bit of pain . Gp has given me instillagel to use but they say use the syringe to put into the urethra?? It's too big ? You can rub it on the outside , it takes 5 mins to work so I haven't figured how I'm gonna do that yet.
I can't drive anymore either every bump in the road is agony and makes me wince and sweat and that in turn starts the bladder off paining.
Sorry to dump this all on you guys you have been so kind , but I can't really tell my family this , they are so supportive but do not have perspective , as all lived ones do .and I have to act as normal as I can around my son he is autistic and 15 nearly16 but functioning around age 12 he knows and is coping but I don't want him to see me at my worst, I'm sure that's yet to come.
I'm off my food makes me wretch thinking of eating , I've got milk shakes and lucozade i manages a bite of toast yesterday. Is anyone else cold I'm froze , i used to be overly warm slept with the window open no quilt on but now I'm socks and thick pyjamas and hot water bottle, makes my other half happy I'm happy for him to be near now he is always like toast x
I'm sorry I've gone on , and not asked how everyone else is doing ? Xxx
Dear Podperson,
I'm sorry to hear what is happening with you. It must be very hard keeping it all together. Others on here seem to swear by lemon barley water for urine infections. And of course keeping drinking should dilute the urine. I haven't tried the lemon barley but keep meaning to.
Just before they operated to remove my bladder the tumour started to grow and I had blockages, pain and bleeding on urination. At the time they'd cancelled the op and I was scared they might not be able to do it in time and so I think I can understand a bit of what you're feeling especially re relatives. You need help but can't really involve them as there's nothing they can do except worry (and make themselves ill).
Have you got a CNS? Mine was very helpful at that time. You are lucky you have a good GP by the sounds of it, but maybe the CNS could help you with eg how to apply the gel. You won't be the first to ask them I'm sure.
Good luck,
Latestart x
So sorry you are suffering.Have you got a surgery date yet ? That will help to focus your mind on knowing you will be out of bladder pain then.I hope the infection clears up soon.Try to eat something as you will need strength for the op.I know it’s hard.I was barely eating before surgery either.Love Jane xx
