I was diagnosed with CSI a week ago. Was told they had removed the cancer when they did a biopsy on the2 October . Had a Ct scan yesterday 20 November to check ck for any residual cancer cells and seeing the hospital nurse on Monday for the start of the BCG treatment .Has anyone else had this and how did it go ? I am feeling scared and need to talk to someone else who is going through this.
Hi Odin
My Experience is similar but not the same I was diagnosed High Grade TaG2 so non invasive also had two TURBTS the second of which showed a benign histology and I am now on surveillance the goal of adjuvant therapy is I think is to get you to that benign histology mark or keep it the cells stable and you will see and hear from many of our fellow patients it does work it’s a marathon not a sprint this best of luck with your follow up treatment plenty of positive outcomes here all the best
Ste
So far so good ,had my first treatment on Monday. Managed to retain it for an hour but told that was ok. Bit of trial and error in the going to the loo we are on a septic tank so can’t use the house toilet as bleach is a no no with a septic tank. Solution was a porta potty that fitted in the toilet which retained the bleach and the contents of my bladder. So that was one problem solved. Sleep was naps as every 30 mins the loo called . Day 2 felt iffy when I got up but by this evening I feel fine by 8pm I had stopped trying for the Guiness book of records for how many visits per hour I went to the loo. Maybe I will get some sleep tonight. So now it’s onwards and upwards.
Day 3 started well as I got 1 to2 hours sleep in between visiting my best friend the toilet, managed to make the feeds for our two ponies and feed the wild birds. My three GSd’s like the pony feed bit as they are addicted to carrots and queue up for two carrots each every morning. After I felt my legs were a bit wobbly but after a rest that went.managed a bit of shopping and rested for the afternoon. By tea time I was back to seeing my best friend rather more than I had hoped and it now hurts to pass urine, thought that feeling had gone but no it’s back as mentioned in the list of side effects hopefully that will pass as I must confess it makes me swear when I go to the loo. But so far it is still all doable.
