Hello wonderful people,

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer two weeks ago, went through very painful bladder irrigation and then TURBT and am waiting for the biopsy results at the moment.
I am so glad that I joined this community, it is so important to know that you are not alone, that there are people with similar experiences who can support, advice and listen to you. I already read some posts and had answers to some of my worries: that bleeding and clotting can continue for a while, that healing can take up to 6 weeks… what about pain? Will it always be there now? It is so bad. I am on oramorph but it can’t go on forever can it?

I am trying not to be desperate although it is hard. I am 62, my daughter is expecting and I would love to be a grandma…

I hope that when I get the results and some kind of clearance about my condition it would be easier to cope. What do you think?

  • Hello  and a warm welcome to this friendly and supportive group. We know how scary the early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be. Firstly, be aware that bladder cancer can be treated successfully. Always a difficult wait for results, but once you get results, then a plan of action will be put in place and once you know exactly what you are dealing with things tend to be less stressful as you have something positive to focus on. Lots of us have been around on here for a long time and always someone with an answer. Feel free to ask anything or just let out your feelings to those who understand. Stick with us and you will feel a lot better. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • We're all familiar with the waiting & worrying, uncertain of the future. I was in a similar position, diagnosed and expecting  a grandchild. Although I'm sure you want to be available to help your daughter, there will plenty of time in the future to be a good Grandma. Best wishes.
