I hope this finds everyone better for being here, and my apologies in advance for taking up the precious time of those here.
I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in September, and had my TURBT + Mitomycin C in October. In December I was informed it was Polypoid Cystitis. I am counting my blessings but confused and still very much struggling. I would say that right from the start of my recovery I was surprised at how much damage my body was indicating it had taken. I went 3 to 4 weeks before blood clots, symptoms were worse but manageable with correct pain relief. However at approximately 8 weeks I had repeated gross hematuria through the morning which was accompanied by a worsening of all symptoms and by a horrendous extreme throbbing sensitivity and pain, which sometimes lasted for 20 minutes. I feel ripped or torn. I sting and itch inside my urethra on the inside of the base of me and at the tip. It's driving me to distraction as nothing seems to get rid of it. I have requested a second opinion but the doctor didn't seem very interested, and diagnosed prostatitis.
I was hoping someone here may have knowledge of what could be happening, as tests show no infection. The pain and worsened symptoms started after a morning erection, my first since the surgery.

Hello RvBriton and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you are in so much discomfort. I have had similar now and again but very mild and not as severe as you. After infection ruled out I was just advised to drink plenty of water. In your case I would certainly push for further investigation or medication. Hopefully someone with greater experience will be along to help. Best wishes.
