Hi All
I joined here a year ago being diagnosed with BC the diagnosis was Ta G2 small 1.2cm. Had 2 clear cystoscopes, then Monday being my 3rd cystoscope they found 2 tumors now waiting for treatment. Absolutely floored.
When was diagnosed I changed everything food exercise haven’t touch tea and coffee, and drink water constantly.
Is there nothing I can do?
Im dreading the wait as my hospital was so bad with communication, I wasn’t even given a cancer nurse, and was passed to the endoscopy dept.
What is the wait nower days, especially around Christmas. My first experience of waiting was 5 weeks to turbt and all but 6 weeks for results.
I’m so scared this has now progressed.
Thank you for reading
Hi Poppy,
So sorry to hear about your recent cystoscope results.
I'm like you and have changed my diet since being diagnosed. Unfortunately I can't really answer your questions though. I like to think that making these dietary changes does make a difference. I googled what is carcagenic and have gone a bit overboard.
I'm personally going through immunotherapy treatment, (BCG) you didn't mention this on your post, but are you having something familiar?
I really hope you get your TURBT procedure soonest and wish you all the best.
Sorry again for not being able to answer your questions or offer any insight.
Kindest Regards
Hi Poppy24 . Sorry to see you here again. Unfortunately we know bc has a high rate of recurrence. I would not class it as progression rather than just a new starter, so back to square one. The positive is because of the regular follow ups it should have been picked up early. Obviously waiting times depend on individual hospitals, but several weeks seem to be the norm. I hope you manage to enjoy Christmas while waiting. Best wishes.
Hi BFG,
Thank you for your message.
I feel there’s nothing that can be done to prevent the reoccurrences.
I wasn’t given any treatment after the 1st turbt, chemo wash should have been done, but no specialist nurses available. No cancer nurse either to help with questions.
Hope you’re doing ok with BCG and you’re feeling well.
please don’t say sorry it was very kind of you to reply.
Take care and Thank you
Hi Rily,
Thank you for your message, Hope you’re keeping well.
Just hope this new starter isn’t a higher grade. Unfortunately my anxiety has cause relationship issues, it’s lonely. I understand I need to deal with BC.
Just have to wait hopefully sometime in January.
Thank you again.
Hope you have a Happy Christmas
Dear Poppy, why don't you ring the MacMillan helpline for a chat? They might give you the perspective to help manage your anxiety. Open 8 -8. And if the anxiety gets bad in the middle of the night, don't forget you don't have to be worried about hurting yourself to talk to Samaritans, they will willingly listen to you whatever is upsetting you.
My husband missed out on a chemo wash one time due to an admin error, but he's still got past a recurrence and is clear 6-months after 6-months, but always happy to be checked. Cancer can be triggered by other things than what you eat and drink. It can develop into being detectable many years after eg being exposed to chemicals or some sort of radiation. As rily says, the regular checks are great for picking it up, and the bladder is a lot easier to check than some other parts of the body.
Sending calm vibes, Denby
