my name is Josette
I am on here looking to see if there is someone who know more about male bladder cancer
my fiancé is dealing with this, and is very stressed out.
The doctor said that he is trying 1 more medicine to try to control his bladder from going non stop
if that does not work the doctor is going to a procedure called: percutaneous nephrostomy
where they put 2 separate tubes in your kidneys help eliminate so he does not have any more accidents
My question is does anyone know if this procedure would help him.
the procedure they want to do is a nephrostomy
thank you for reading this
Hi josette and welcome to the group although sorry to hear your fiancé has bladder cancer and is having frequent urinary problems. Not had this procedure myself, but we know a nephrostomy will by pass the bladder and allow it to heal. I am sure anyone who has had one will be along to help. Best wishes.
Hi josette. Difficult to say without knowing the full story but if he has had any tumours removed and is now on chemo in to the bladder, then it is usually a six week course then have a look. If all okay then usually followed up with regular maintenance. Best wishes.
The operation to remove the tumour would have been a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour). This is usually followed up by a second TURBT to double check and biopsy results would determine the next step. Best wishes.
