Good morning.
I have been peeing blood on and off for a few months now but put it down to a possible kidney stone on my right hand side as I have had a few kidney stones in the past and the pain was the same as before i.e a dull aching pain in my kidney and round the front which can sometimes be disabilitating.
I had a CT scan and it came back as no kidney stone found.
Also I got told a few years ago that I have a Gallstone, and I can feel it under the right hand side of my ribs mostly when I sit down.
I went to the GP and he has now done an urgent referral to the urologist.
I have never smoked, but after the GP sending me for an urgent referral and after reading all the things on line it looks like it is 100% bladder cancer.
At the moment I do have a kidney stone on my left Kidney which has now moved down to the lower part on the tube.
My question is this, is it always bladder cancer if there is blood in urine ?
Thank you you.
Simon.
Hi Grinch
Basically the answer is no, it is not always bladder cancer and there might be another explanation.
I notice from your other posts you are also convinced you have melanoma, so perhaps it might be time to stop reading dr Google and wait for your urology appointment. They will decide what other tests are needed, and only then can you get a diagnosis.
I appreciate you are very anxious, so it may be good to speak to your gp about your anxiety levels and try to get some help with this, as you say it is taking over your life. You cannot diagnose yourself from the internet and it just serves to increase anxiety.
I hope there is a less serious explanation for your issue and that you don’t have long to wait for an appointment.

Hi Sarah.
Thank you for your reply.
Yes I had to have a urgent referral to see about a mole or what ever it was, and still waiting for my results.
Then on Tuesday last week I went to see my GP about the blood in my pee I get from time to time, thinking I was because of a kidney stone i thought I had in my right kidney, but the results showed no kidney stone.
So my GP sent me for another urgent referral for this, saying about a tumor in my bladder.
My appointment is 10th October.
A double blow, it feels like my world is slowly falling apart.
It is now 7.05am I have been up since 3.34an looking at the internet and getting so anxious again.
Thank you Sarah.

I have also been up for the same amount of time this morning but for a different reason!
Your doctor cannot possibly know if you have a tumour in your bladder but blood in your pee is something which does need to be checked on. It might be a suspicion, but that’s all at the moment-he doesn’t actually know.
You haven’t had a diagnosis of anything yet, but honestly with your high state of anxiety looking on the internet is absolutely not good for you. You might have a longish wait for results of your mole investigation with current backlogs, and then there would be a wait for any results of tests done by urology. Being in a high state of anxiety for this period of time will be very detrimental to your mental and physical health. Being on cancer groups may also make you assume the worst as so many posters do actually have cancer.
Those of us who have been through the waiting for tests and results do appreciate what a difficult time it is, as we’ve all been through it but don’t write yourself off just yet before you know anything for certain.

Hi Simon,Welcome to this friendly group.Obviously this is an anxious time for you but try and stay off Google if you can.The usual next step is to have a flexible cystoscopy. It is a quick procedure just a few minutes.A flexible scope is put into the bladder with local anaesthetic. This enables anything abnormal to be spotted and photographs to be taken.Bleeding does not necessarily mean it’s cancer. You can get bladder stones, infections and red patches that can cause bleeding as well as tumours.Cystoscopy will show if there is anything that needs further investigation or treatment. You need to take it one step at a time We are all here to help and support so feel free to ask any questions.Love and best wishes Jane
Hi Simon,I think most here have been guilty of using Dr Google and making themselves far more anxious in the process. The best advice I got on joining this group in July 2019 was stop googling. It is perfectly understandable as you are looking for answers but hopefully soon you will know for sure whether it is cancer or not.Love Jane
Thank you Jane.
I am still waiting for my results on a mole I had a biopsy on, so could not stop Googling what seemed like ever minute of every day.
Still waiting for those results.
I did stop for about 2 days, but when I got another referral for eurology I started googling all over again, so I am now worse than ever.
It feels like if one of the cancers dose not get me the other one will or both.
Thank you Jane.

Hi Grinch,
Along with others on here, please try not to google symptoms it is not good for your mental state of mind. My CNS always told me to stay off google and only look at McMillan or cancer UK sites for information.
I too was peeing blood on and off for a few months and after an urgent referral an abnormality was found on my kidney, like you, inwardly I was super stressed, I went from having suspected TB to cancer in a few days, but the support once you are in the system was immeasurable for me and I hope you will have the same. I have just been given the all clear for now (with regular checkups) after months of chemo to shrink tumour followed by surgery (nephroureterectomy) my cancer is rare, UTUC, so in unchartered waters regarding future reoccurrence, but just remember treatment has come on so much even advanced cancers are often treatable, and also yours (fingers crossed) may not even be cancer.
Wishing you well and keep calm
