Hi everyone I'm in absolute bit's. Just trying to get through each day. Have just joined. Don't really have any support at the moment. Just trying to process that my mum may die soon.

  • Hello Louise74, and welcome to the group. Of course you are in bits upon finding this out and not having support. But you will find support here.

Do let us know as much as you are able what point in the process you Mum is at, eg, just had a tumour/several seen on a scan, had a cystoscopy, or whatever? Then we can give you the info as to what may likely come next, and how serious it is.

    Thinking of you,

  • Hello Denby  Wave  Thankyou so much for replying. My mum had a gurt tumour removed 4wks ago.  They managed to remove all of it. However the cancer root's have inbedded in her outa bladder. They have only offered her 6 sessions of radio therapy. As she is so frail and fragile. Xx

  • Hi Louise74, of course every case is different but my husband chose to have radiotherapy rather than surgery for invasive bladder cancer  in Jan 2018. He is currently all clear. It involved lots of follow up checks but he preferred to go that way. I hope you get some positive news soon. He didn't find the radiotherapy too difficult. It was very quick, about 15 minutes each session. Let us know how you get on xx

  • Louise, it’s human nature to think the worst and we probably all do, however, there are now many good treatments available and bladder cancer is largely treatable.  Ask lots of questions and educate yourself as much as you can.  People on the forum are happy to answer any questions you may have.  Above all be kind to yourself and take the time to care for yourself first, you need to be in good shape to take care of Mum.  Best wishes
