Tiredness

I was diagnosed with an intermediate BC but confined to my bladder, though the root of my tumour was awkwardly in my ureter.  I have since had laser treatment to the root and removal of two new growths despite the six weeks mitomycen. I’m due for a kidney CT scan in a few weeks and then a cystoscopy in July.  I’m thinking I’m doing well, but have inexplicable tiredness.  Surely this cannot be from a non invasive bladder cancer.  I don’t look or seem ill but my tiredness is embarrassing.  I’ve always been active but have bouts when I just can’t do a thing.  Does anyone have any experience to share?

  • Hi  . The tiredness or fatigue is common after treatment. My treatment was a bit different but I suffered bouts of fatigue. Like a cloud descending and draining all the energy out of me. It was explained to me that it was the body's method of dealing with all the trauma it has been through. The body shuts down to allow all available energy to go towards the healing process. The fatigue gradually got less and less over time. It may also be an idea to try and get a blood test with your GP. My test showed I had pernicious anaemia causing tiredness. A few iB12 injections got me back to normal, although I have to have 3 month injections for life. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Thank you!  I’m prone to anaemia and low iron.  I’ll check that out.  I’m a just get with it kind of daughter (my mum was the same but she paid with her life).  I’ll get it checked out before I get the scan.  Thank you card
