Bladder cancer

Hi I am new to the community.  In 2016 was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and a tiny cancerous lesion on my bladder.  Had a total hysterectomy and the lesion on the bladder was zapped - these cancers weren't connected and both early stage.  Following annual monitoring I had a recurrence of a lesion on the bladder in October 2022 (after 6 years) - again this was small and zapped under general anaesthetic.  However when I went back again after 3 months - there are 2 more lesions on the bladder - again tiny but to me worrying that they came back so quickly.  I have a Urinary Tract CT Scan tomorrow and can't help worrying that there may be something ontoward on the kidneys etc.

Hopefully the CT Scan will be clear and I can concentrate on the bladder.  My real concern is what if these lesions keep recurring very regularly -  can they be life threatening, could I loose my bladder - my imagination is running away with me.  Can you keep having them zapped regularly under general anaesthetic?  I am 62 years old and female.

Thanks

  • Hi  and welcome to this friendly and supportive group. Firstly, I hope your scans are clear. Unfortunately they don't usually tell you anything on the day. The images need to go away to be analysed. We know that bladder cancer is known for recurrences which is why we are checked regularly. Some people have multiple recurrences and have them dealt with in early stages. Everyone is different and there is no general pattern. Once they concentrate on your bladder and take some biopsies, they should then come up with a treatment plan. These early type lesions are very rarely life threatening. Bladder cancer usually has to be very advanced. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.
