So today I had my appointment for my ct scan to see if I have cancer how far it's spread. Unfortunately when I got there I had an attack of the panics and was unable to go through with it. I feel like I've let myself down, but didn't read the information leaflet & so I didn't know I would have to have an iv iodine solution.
Should I even be this panicky & frightened about allergic reactions? I'm finding this all so hard to deal with ?
Hi Rachel72, you could try calling the MacMillan helpline 8-8 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. Perhaps they could give you stats on how rare allergy to the iodine is, to help calm you. I definitely think something like a single diazepam dose if necessary is worth it. Whenever anyone's doing my blood pressure or announces chirpily, "Sharp scratch!" I think of a flowing ocean of bright green frozen peas! Works a treat.
Sending you confidence vibes and wishes,
Denby
